Holmes Harbor Sewer District property is currently available for the quiet enjoyment of our community, and we want residents and families to continue to enjoy peaceful walks and appropriate recreational activities. We ask everyone using the property to be respectful of the property, neighboring residents, and one another.

Please note that there are currently no active golf operations on the property. While the property is not operating as a golf course at this time, it remains District-owned property and is not an unrestricted public park. The absence of active golf operations does not change the expectations for respectful use of the property or authorize motorized vehicles, off-leash dogs, disruptive activities, or other uses that interfere with neighboring properties or damage District property.

The District has recently received concerns regarding motorized vehicles (ATV and dirt bikes), dogs off leash, noise, and other activities that are disruptive to neighboring properties. We would like to clarify both the expectations for use of the property and the District’s role when concerns arise.

The Holmes Harbor Sewer District is not an enforcement agency for civil or law-enforcement matters. We do not patrol the property, and we do not have security personnel. Calling the District office to report an active incident generally creates an unnecessary delay because the information must then be relayed secondhand to the appropriate authority. In many cases, by the time the information reaches the proper agency, the activity has already ended.

If you witness an issue that requires enforcement, please contact the appropriate agency directly.

• Dogs: Island County has leash requirements and Animal Control services. For animal-related concerns, please contact Island County Animal Control at 360-240-5542.



• Motorized Vehicles: The golf course property is clearly posted NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES. For violations or other law-enforcement concerns, please contact the Island County Sheriff’s Office at 360-679-7310.

Use of the property for quiet recreation is a privilege. If ongoing misuse, property damage, or disruptive behavior becomes a continuing problem, the District may need to restrict or close public access.

At that point, unauthorized entry onto the property could become a trespassing matter subject to enforcement by the appropriate authorities.

While enjoying the property, please be considerate of those who live nearby. If you are tossing a Frisbee or football, playing with your family, or throwing a tennis ball for your dog, please be mindful of noise, boundaries, and the peaceful enjoyment of neighboring properties.

If an accidental interaction, disruption, or damage occurs, please handle the situation respectfully and courteously.

We want this property to remain a place the community can enjoy. Please help us keep it that way by respecting the property, respecting our neighbors, keeping dogs under control, and leaving motorized vehicles off the golf course.
